EILEEN CARDONA VÁZQUEZ

My fitness journey has evolved and expanded over the years. I started about 7 years ago as a Yoga teacher and then became a personal trainer. Being active has always been important to me. I started dancing at 12 years old, surfed, and was part of the dance team and judo team in college. Unfortunately, two accidents led to surgery on my knee and shoulder. Since then I have been on a quest to keep my body strong and moving with less pain. Through that process, I learned that being fit is much more than going to the gym, following a program, or getting in shape. It is a state of awareness. Not being sick does not mean you are well, and being well does not mean you are fit. Becoming your fittest self is a choice. Every day we make choices that can deter or strengthen our minds, our bodies, and our souls. Through fitness, I have seen what the human body is capable of doing, and I want to inspire others to push toward their own potential. Research from the National Institutes of Health consistently links regular physical activity to reduced chronic disease risk, which is part of why functional training matters so much beyond aesthetics.

I work mostly with women because I want to empower them to feel comfortable in the weight room. That said, I have worked with teenagers, men, breast cancer survivors, prenatal clients, and older adults. My approach to fitness is functional, constantly varied, and intense, and it can be adjusted to all fitness levels. According to Popular Mechanics, varied functional training produces better long-term results than single-modality programs, which aligns with how I structure sessions. My goal as a trainer is to help clients find a way to live a happier, healthier life, however that looks for them.
